October - 4th week

10/21/2012
Hey brother. Can't believe its already been 2 months since you left us physically.

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. Vancouver has been raining like crap. I've been taking good care of your stuff. Life is neither beautiful nor bad here. Best part is with you.

Mom called last night. Its suppose to be Ching Ming Festival in Hong Kong. We might come to the portal to visit you a bit.

Cheers.

  1. Hello Alfred,

I'm sorry for posting a comment on your blog, but I wanted to ask you a question about Alwin. I've just read your blog and am very sorry about what happened in the past 6 months. The reason I'm posting this is because about 25 years ago I was best mates with a great friend also called Alwin Wong. I remember his birthday is on 14/10, and we went to school together at KJS and KGV in Hong Kong in 87-88. Unfortunately we lost contact with each other after I moved to Australia. For some reason I googled his name recently in an attempt to look him up, and I saw this blog. I also remember he has a brother.

I would be grateful if you can confirm this is the Alwin I knew. Apologies in advance if I have got the wrong person.

    Cheers,
    Leo

  2. Hi Leo,
Don't worry! This blog was meant to have comments posted on!

And yes Leo, he is the Alwin Wong you knew. He was 35 when he passed away. He did went to KGV/Island School. I'm his younger brother.

I'm glad you were a good friend with him. He was always a happy person.

Anything here is explained as is :) If you have any questions and stuff about Alwin during the past 30 years; please feel free to ask me. Don't worry about mentioning him will affect us or anything. We are happy he's up there :)

  3. Thanks Alfred. Obviously I would prefer to have been able to look him up under different circumstances. However I'm also a follower of Jesus, so I know we will meet again. He has always been one of those childhood friends I wanted to meet again and catch up.

He was a great friend (even at age 10!). We sat next to each other in class 6T in KJS, and did many things together. If you happen to find the KGV class photo from first form (class 1E), I'm on there as well. I've actually been to your apartment once as well, and I remember meeting you and your parents while he taught me how to play Captain Tsubasa on the original red/white Nintendo. He was always a keen soccer player, and I can see he never lost his love for video games.

If it's not too much trouble, can I ask what he has been up to in the past 25 years? What kind of work did he do? Family?

    Cheers,
    Leo
